A fresh update to Google Chrome for iPad lets users open multiple browser windows side-by-side. This long-overdue feature enables tablet users see two web pages simultaneously.
Google also released Gmail and Google Drive Home screen widgets.
Multi-window multitasking in Chrome for iPad
To take advantage of it, “tap and hold a link, and then choose ‘Open in new window,’” according to Google. Alternatively, when one Chrome window is open, drag the application’s icon up from the iPadOS Dock to create a second one.
Apple Safari already supports this feature, as do many other iPad apps.
New Home screen widgets too
The update to Google’s email app promises, “Now, you can easily stay on top of your emails by adding the Gmail widget to your home screen.” And the Google Drive widget lets users search for files, and access recent ones.
